A time for fresh starts and clean slates and new beginnings. It's also a time of reflection for most as we look back upon the prior year and ask ourselves if we made the most of that time. The answer to that question generally shapes our goals (resolutions, if you will) for the coming year.
So my 2016... did I make the most of that time? In some ways, I'd say yes. I fell in love with the Metropolitan Round coffee table from Pottery Barn, but was not willing to fork out $350 for it… so instead I perused Craigslist for months and months. It’s been a busy past eleven (sheesh!) months since I last
blogged… grad school will do that to a full-time working girl. But oh, how I’ve
missed this little corner of the interwebs and diy projects and such so I’ve
decided to squeeze my way back into blogging with a new concept: the One
Month-One Project Series. It’s a low commitment commitment (pretty sure that’s
not proper English) to Rhonda @ home.made.http://www.blogger.com/profile/04458864712479441781noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6884643255641022687.post-60799734554663302152015-01-12T18:07:00.001-08:002015-01-12T18:07:38.255-08:002015So… it’s been all quiet on the blogging front as I decided to simply enjoy my holidays this year as opposed to the usual making things and taking photos, editing said photos and writing blog posts.  I put up old decorations, I hung the same wreath I’ve had the past three Christmases, and *gasp* I didn’t even take everything down until this past weekend.  The Flow Blue vintage dresser Rhonda @ home.made.http://www.blogger.com/profile/04458864712479441781noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6884643255641022687.post-73233213439258897792014-12-19T07:45:00.001-08:002014-12-19T07:45:39.728-08:00Flow Blue and White Vintage Dresser Makeover

Hey, hey there friends! Happy Thanksgiving week to you! I’ve got a short work week in store so I’m looking forward to spending time with my kiddos and getting my holiday bake on… #bringonthepie. But first, how about a furniture makeover reveal? Here’s my Mid-Century Modern desk, redone in a gorgeous peacock blue.

Happy Wednesday friends! I'm so happy to be back with another edition of Work It Wednesday, where I share my version of work-appropriate style. Mind you, I'm a nurse, so I've spent the majority of my career in scrubs and clog, thus finding my work style is a recent and ever-evolving process. Today, the look is pencil skirts and booties - yes, it can be done!
This week, IRhonda @ home.made.http://www.blogger.com/profile/04458864712479441781noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6884643255641022687.post-32328105369610396562014-10-30T04:10:00.000-07:002014-11-01T05:49:03.901-07:00Sugar Skull Wreath
I have an obsession with Sugar Skulls... they are such a beautiful representation of the Day of the Dead, a time when deceased loved ones are remembered in Mexican/Aztec tradition. I think I also have a fondness for Dia de los Muertos because my mother passed away on November 1st, which is when the cultural holiday begins. I decided to forgo the traditional Halloween wreath this yearRhonda @ home.made.http://www.blogger.com/profile/04458864712479441781noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6884643255641022687.post-907569125911119152014-10-29T04:05:00.001-07:002014-10-29T04:05:44.740-07:00{Work It} Wednesday - Cropped Pants and Heels
Happy humpday friends! I'm back with the second installment of Work It Wednesday, where I show you my ever-evolving work style that doesn't include ripped up skinny jeans or any of the other ridiculous "work" outfits found on Pinterest.
Today, it's all about cropped pants and heels.
I brought back my fave cropped pants (Gap skinny mini pants) for this look and paired it with a Rhonda @ home.made.http://www.blogger.com/profile/04458864712479441781noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6884643255641022687.post-88275967381519918122014-10-23T04:17:00.000-07:002014-11-01T05:48:53.271-07:00DIY Lazy Susan
Whew! The past week has been a real doozy for me at work so I haven't had a lot of energy in the evening hours... thus I'm just now posting my latest project, the DIY Lazy Susan that I shared in my No-Sew Halloween Runner tutorial.
I've had a dough bowl on my table for a while and while I love it, we had to do a lot of reaching around it when we were passing the salt or getting a Rhonda @ home.made.http://www.blogger.com/profile/04458864712479441781noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6884643255641022687.post-88731486554603659262014-10-13T20:42:00.001-07:002014-10-23T20:20:38.872-07:00Halloween No-Sew Runner Tutorial
Hey there friends! Hope you're having a great week so far... can you believe its already mid-October? I know I can't, which might explain why I'm just now starting to decorate my home for Halloween. I'm starting with this No-Sew Halloween Runner:
I found this great ghost-stamped burlap at Joann's a few weekends ago and knew I wanted to use it for a table runner. Happy Humpday and welcome to a new series here on home.made. called Work It Wednesday, where I'll show you what I wear to work as I strive to infuse more style into my work wardrobe.
I don't know about you, but I sometimes peruse "work outfits" on Pinterest and I have to laugh, cause unless you work at the mall or in a place with no dress code, most of the looks are unwearable in office. &Rhonda @ home.made.http://www.blogger.com/profile/04458864712479441781noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6884643255641022687.post-13132038638880667472014-10-06T20:19:00.001-07:002014-10-06T20:34:29.729-07:00How to Remove Lipstick Stains from ClothingI had a complete freak-out moment last weekend when I went to get my clothes out of the dryer and found this: That would be an empty tube of lipstick… that made it through an entire cycle in the dryer with some of my favorite clothing!  Noooooo!  Once I regained my composure, I decided that trying to get this lipstick out of my clothes would be a cheaper alternative to replacing themRhonda @ home.made.http://www.blogger.com/profile/04458864712479441781noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6884643255641022687.post-11931725273915445022014-09-29T04:00:00.000-07:002014-10-06T20:53:21.914-07:00DIY Felt Acorn Garland
One of my favorite things about this time of year is collecting fallen acorns as I walk around my neighborhood. I love using them in my décor and fall crafts, like my Acorn Tree or Glittered Acorns or Giving Thanks Wreath… and my latest addition, a DIY Felt Acorn Garland.
One of the bad things about fresh acorns is that they eventually begin to dry out and shrink and then fall Rhonda @ home.made.http://www.blogger.com/profile/04458864712479441781noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6884643255641022687.post-70187548964870483402014-09-23T04:34:00.000-07:002014-09-28T05:42:41.519-07:00White Cabinets and a Laundry Room Reveal
I am so excited to finally show you a room that has been in progress for a long, long time… my hard-working, sweet little laundry room.
Here’s a little glimpse of what it looked like before:

Hey hey friends! Happy Friday to you! I’m back from my unplanned but much needed summer sabbatical with a fun project that totally changed the look of my refrigerator: DIY Oilcloth Fridge Liners.
Our refrigerator had some sort of mishap last week that involved the smell of something burning (according to Mr. home.made.), so we unplugged and unloaded it to investigate Rhonda @ home.made.http://www.blogger.com/profile/04458864712479441781noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6884643255641022687.post-49396714205185615992014-08-01T03:45:00.000-07:002014-08-08T20:17:34.335-07:00{The Vinegar Experiment} Cleaning Stinky DrainsMy experimentation with using vinegar around the household continues this month.  Last month, I showed you my results of using vinegar to remove hard water buildup.  This month, I’m tackling a stinky sink drain. When you grow up in the south, fried chicken is a frequent menu item albeit probably not the healthiest menu item… I’ve been making this healthier oven-fried chicken for years. It’s easy to make with ingredients I usually have on hand and it’s always a hit with my family. While you can use any chicken cut for this, we tend to go for the drumsticks since they’re easy for my girls to Rhonda @ home.made.http://www.blogger.com/profile/04458864712479441781noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6884643255641022687.post-8880449712032141402014-07-11T19:47:00.002-07:002014-07-11T19:47:25.799-07:00Well hello there... and Summer Decor!
Hey, hey, hey friends! Hello from the silence that has been brought to you by summertime and a new job. Things have been pretty slow around here but that doesn't mean my to-do list has gone away. And next on that list is some summer decor... here's some inspiration from the web.
